Winchelsea Church Hall Folding Chairs

£75.00 £117.00

We have only a handful left of these elegant Edwardian folding chairs, which were purchased some years back directly from the church hall in Winchelsea, East Sussex, UK. The ones left have been reduced, as they have a few minor imperfections.

The seats are of ply with pierced patterns, and are affixed by small brass studs. The backs are spindle slatted, whereas later versions of this chair were not slatted. Each frame is beautifully constructed from solid walnut and designed to fold flat when not in use, and so can easily be stored. They make excellent dining chairs, and we are selling them singularly.

Country of origin: UK

Date of manufacture: 1900

Material: solid walnut frame, ply seat with metal fastenings

Dimensions:

Height when unfolded 84cm, Height from floor to seat 47cm, Width 39.5cm

Depth of seat 38cm, Depth when open to back of chair 50cm

Condition: good for their age, with some wear here and there - with some minor splits in the wood, yet all strong and usable, and nothing untoward. Note: the piercing pattern on the seat varies and can differ from that shown in the image.
