1940s Bakelite Flexi Lamp by E K Cole Ltd

£245.00

A stunning 1940s Bakelite lamp with flexi-arm designed by British designer Eric Kirkman Cole. It emits good directional light and so is ideal for the desk or the bedside table.

Cole founded British electronics company EKCO in 1924 which is now chiefly known for its early twentieth century radio and television sets. Under E K Cole Ltd, it also expanded into other Bakelite production, such as table lamps, that were designed for and manufactured in Germany and the Eastern bloc under license.

The desk lamp is fitted with a chromium plated flexible arm, a Bakelite base and shade, an on/off switch, and has its original cloth covered electrical cable.
