Georgian Country House Plate Rack
£795.00
A rare Georgian country house scrubbed-pine plate draining rack with good historical wear and patina, which can either be surface stood or wall mounted. Beautifully constructed, it is fitted with full-length plate dividing spindles that pass through both sections. Saucepans, bowls, cups and mugs can be put to drain upside down on its top shelf, and it accommodates modern-day large dinner plates comfortably (note dimensions below). It holds up to 31 plates, and has 3 extra long slots for large platters, bread boards and baking trays.
It has been adapted to hang on a wall, with the addition of two modern slats of wood attached top and bottom on its rear side - see images. This allows room for plates to project comfortably toward the rear when slotted into the rack. These additions can easily be removed if your intention is to use the rack freestanding.
