Copper Bound Paint Brush
£45.00
A large and striking, time-worn, copper bound distemper brush with a fine pair of shoulders made by brush-makers Vulkaset. Stamped into the copper on one side is "Vulkaset", and on the reverse side, "7" made in England"; it would have been used by a serious decorator, who would have treasured and valued such a high quality brush. It's distempering days may be over, yet it could now be used as a dustpan brush or dusting brush, and looks particularly striking when hung up on a wall.
History
Vulkaset brushes were distributed by Leng Armac, and were makers of varnish and enamel paint brushes; domestic brush ware, stable brushes and brooms; steel wire brushes for foundries and ships; camel hair brushes and shaving brushes; and distemper brushes, such as this wonderful handsome chap we offer here.
