Large Ironstone Cheese Dome


A good early twentieth century ironstone cheese dome, with original matching base plate. The underside of the plate is marked "TCTC Made in England". 

Plain, unadorned ironstone ceramics with clean-lines and simple forms were part of everyday 19th and early 20th century below-stairs life . Their purity and functionality is as appealing today as it was then and  they make an arresting addition to the modern home.

Material: Ceramic ironstone

Diameter of base plate 24cm  Height of dome when stood on base plate 16.5cm

Condition: very good, with some overall crazing to the base plate, and some very light staining to the glaze.
