A good boxed set of silver-plated nutcrackers and nut picks
There's nothing like having the right tools for the job, and these are just the ticket when it comes to eating shell-on nuts. The beautiful picks are designed to wheedle out every last nugget of flesh from a walnut shell - always the difficult nut to dissect. Both nutcrackers and picks have a wonderful weight and beautifully turned, polished handles. The picks have a charming miniature walnut modelled in wood at the end of each.
Most probably dating from the 1930s, they were made in Sheffield England, which was then the heart of the world’s flatware industry. Our vintage silver-plated EPNS (electro-plated nickel silver) nutcrackers and picks are both good-looking and functional, and their renewed popularity make them a cool addition on today’s table.
