1930s Triang Doll's House

A charmingly suburban 1930s doll's house with a cream painted tin metal front, made by Triang. The roof is made from compressed cardboard and covered in its original roof tile patterned paper. The main body is constructed from wood, and the all metal front is hinged, and opens up to reveal four rooms inside: one room has a tiled floor, and the upper floor rooms are wallpapered with a dado paper border detail. There is a sun dial above the wooden front door, and the grid style cottage windows are painted pale green. All external paint is original and with maker's name:"Triang, L Bros Ltd London England".
History
Lines Bros Ltd was a British toy manufacturer of the 20th century, operating under the Tri-ang Toys brand name. At its peak in 1947 it was claimed by the company to be the largest toy maker in the world, for they had 40 companies world-wide, including the famous Hornby, Meccano and Dinky brands.
