Giant enamel basin

An extra extra-large white enamel bowl with black rim. Use it indoors as a giant fruit or vegetable bowl, for holding a group of pot plants, or in the garden as planter, a mini herb garden holder or bathe the pooch in it - its uses are boundless. Makes a marvellous washing-up bowl too - if you have that extra-large sink to go with.
History of enamel in the home
Up until the mid 19th century kitchen vessels were either ceramic or tin. Although the enamelling process had been invented hundreds of years before, it took the Industrial Revolution to drive forward the quality of vitreous enamelling and its application to everyday household objects; and by the end of the 19th Century enamelled household items of all shapes and sizes had become commonplace.
