Edwardian pub mugs
A collection of George V pint measure pub mugs.
Made by Pountney & Co. Ltd. of Bristol, these rare Edwardian 1 pint mocha ware pub mugs were once common in late nineteenth century/early twentieth century pubs. They are glazed in an intense sky blue and the watermark on the side (see images) is the stamp for King George V - a crown flanked by the letters G and R, George Rex.

Condition: These were manufactured for everyday use, and imperfections in the glaze along with discolouration and crazing is the norm. Below are more details for each mug.
A) Small hairline to rim and some discolouration to handle
B) Good, with some crazing to the glaze
C) Good, with small firing blip in glaze on lower edge
D) Some tiny nibble to the rim, plus some crazing to glaze and inside on the base
