Green enamel bath

A striking speckled moss-green large enamel oval tub with twin black handles and a black rim. Use it to hold a collection of houseplants; as a garden planter - we're thinking ferns; a mini herb garden holder - looks lovely bristling with mint; or as a bath for the dog - its uses are boundless.

History of enamel in the home

Up until the mid 19th century kitchen vessels were either ceramic or tin. Although the enamelling process had been invented hundreds of years before, it took the Industrial Revolution to drive forward the quality of vitreous enamelling and its application to everyday household objects; and by the end of the 19th Century enamelled household items of all shapes and sizes had become commonplace.
