Mill bin

Sold

Give your interior a unique look with these handsome textile mill bins. Once used to hold vast spools of thread at the Victorian built Lancashire Dalton Mills (see image), they are now repurposed, and function excellently as laundry bins, waste paper bins or as recycling bins.  Or they can be used to hold umbrellas, sticks, brooms, rolls of paper and so on - in fact all awkwardly long items that need a good-looking home. Tall and narrow they take up little floor space, yet house plenty. Made from vulcanised board, riveted, and trimmed top and bottom with steel braces they are strong and hardwearing. Dalton Mills closed down near thirty years ago and this is a last chance to own a little slice of the Lancashire textile mills history.  We have just a handful left.

Country of origin: Lancashire, UK

Date of manufacture: c.1900

Dimensions: Height 83cm, Diameter 31cm

Condition: some scuff marks and some small discolouration to metal work - yet this adds to their character and patination, and reflects their history and long years of labour. See pictures.

Please note that the price is per bin, and the design you receive may differ very slightly from those pictured. Please contact us if you would like further images of the one you would receive.
