Engineer's Boxed Set of Rulers

A beautiful 1920s engineers' plotting scale set of rulers housed in a slender rectangular mahogany box manufactured by J. Halden & Co Ltd. The box is fitted internally with grooves either end, in which the rulers sit. It has a brass lock and mount, and a working key, and a rectangular brass inscription plate on its lid - never engraved. The box contains a full set of seven boxwood rulers.
History
J.Halden & Co Ltd (1878 - 1969) of Manchester, UK, was a prominent manufacturer of mathematical, drafting, engineering and scientific instruments - and known for it high quality drawing sets, such as the one we offer here. Founded by Joseph Halden, it became a leading supplier, often branded as "From Craftsmen to Draughtsmen".
