Edwardian Egg Separator

Sold

A very pleasing Edwardian ironstone egg separator, with graphic “Lightning Egg Separator” typeface. Egg separators are small round cups with a slot on one side, and were part of the ironstone creamware batterie de cuisine of the late 19th century kitchen. The egg is broken into the separator, and upon tilting the cup, the egg white slides through the slot leaving the egg yolk behind. Lightning egg separators were considered the best available, and this one is in outstanding condition.
