Edwardian Pub Mug
£125.00
A good George V Mochaware one pint measure pub mug in classic sky blue glaze. These are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and especially in such good condition. Made by Pountney & Co. Ltd. of Bristol, these Edwardian 1 pint mocha ware pub mugs were most commonly glazed in an intense sky blue, and were once common in late nineteenth century/early twentieth century pubs. The watermark on the side (see last image) is the stamp for King George V - a crown flanked by the letters G and R, George Rex.
Country of origin: UK
Year of manufacture: c.1910
Material: ceramic
Dimensions: Height 12.5cm / Width to handle 13cm
Condition: excellent, with some crazing to the glaze inside the mug at the base, but nothing untoward.
