A 1940s Ministry of Defence oak work table of good proportion and solid design. Its composition moulded inset panel top and twin drawers with cup handles are key features of the government issued furniture of World War ll. It bears the battle scars of its 80 years of service; paint spattered, stained and scarred by the toils of its labours, and with cuts to its surface. See images.  It is this patina of age which adds to its character and story. Various original M O D government issue numbers are paint-stencilled below the work-top.
