Japanese Laquer Tea Caddy


A charming 1920s Japanese lacquered tea caddy inlaid with mother of pearl flowers, leaf sprigs, vine trails, and birds. The bow-topped hinged lid opens up to reveal a further two lacquered boxes with hinged lids which are removable, as shown in the images.

Year of manufacture: c.1920

Material: laquer, mother of pearl and wood

Condition: good with a sprinkling of very small knocks here and there to the lacquer. The foil lining to the interiors of the caddy boxes is part missing - as shown in the further images.
