Museum Archive Box 1
Vintage ex-museum archive box c.1950 made from vulcanized cardboard with internal aluminium frame and rivets for extra rigidity.
The boxes were specially made for a well-known central London museum to store important documents and rare artefacts, yet they were never used, only recently being discovered in a forgotten store room belonging to the museum. Their ox-blood colour and heavy-duty construction reflect our hardware store aesthetic, and the box offers useful and handsome storage solutions for today’s office and home.
Length 17cm Width 15cm Depth 8cm
Condition: the boxes are near 70 years old, and although never used, they may have imperfections, such as a minor scratch, a scuff mark or a slight knock to a corner. All-in-all, they are in wonderful condition for their age - and we were very lucky to get them.
