Magnificent Bank Of Workshop Drawers
An exceptional bank of antique wooden workshop drawers with original patina and finish. Each of the 90 drawers has a cup-shaped metal pull handle and a name-plate holder; the lower, deeper drawers are singular inside, whereas the upper slimmer drawers contain divisions. Highly functional and pleasingly industrial, it would be perfect for office, studio, garden shed or workshop storage. A real work-horse, and a stunner. This is the largest bank of drawers we've ever had the pleasure of, and a rarity to come by these days.
Country of origin: Germany
Date of manufacture: c.1920
Material: stained pine
Dimensions: Height 146cm, Length 190cm, Depth 50cm
Condition: a working set of drawers that has seen a century of heavy-duty use will bear a few battle scars, and this one has its fair share - from staple holes, scratches and paint splatters, to a few splinters of wood missing to three of the drawer fronts, and some splintering of the wood toward the bottom of its righthand side panel. All character building and part of its 21st century good-looks. Its underside is supported by an unattached cross-baton of wood. All wear and tear can be seen in the images.
