Naive Foot Stool

A charming, rustic, low level pine foot stool with an s-shaped handgrip slot. Wooden pegged, and with a cross-stretcher between its uprights, it has a strong naive aesthetic. It's not strong enough to stand on, but fine for propping your feet upon when enjoying a snooze or it could be used as a very low-level side table.

Year of manufacture: c.1900

Origin: Europe

Material: stained pine

Dimensions: Length 36cm Width 27.5cm Height 14cm

Condition: the top is constructed from two sections of plank, one wide, one much slimmer - and these have parted very slightly to make a small split - see image.
