1940s Silver Salver
Sold
A magnificent 1940s silver-plated salver or platter with raised picture-frame scrolled border. Well-proportioned, with a good weight, and beautifully designed, it would make a stylish addition on today’s table. It reminds us of the work of the 1940s decorator extraordinaire Dorothy Draper (1889 - 1969). Her style defined ‘Hollywood Regency’: modern lines combined with rococo scrollwork. The salver is splendid when used as a festive drinks tray, or to stand a group of twinkling candles upon. Full-on glamorous, yet restrained, it will elevate any occasion.
